The Smoky Hill Rotary
Club Foundation has raised well over $150,000 with this annual
fundraising event. Not only does it make possible the many projects
undertaken by Smoky Hill Rotarians, but it also provides a fun evening
for the entire community they serve. It's a gala event and has been
attended by thousands of people since the first Ritz in 1985.

MORE
ABOUT THE RITZ...
The first Ritz raised less
than $7,000. Since that time more than $150,000 has been raised to support many
community needs. The
Ritz has become "the event" in Aurora each year.
In a true Rotary spirit of Service Above Self, the
Ritz brings Smoky Hill Rotary members together with generous businesses and contributors, to make a real difference in
the Aurora community.
More than 200 people, from throughout the Aurora/Denver Metro area, attend this
"black tie optional" evening. Many who attend are "regulars" to the Ritz, including
the Mayor of Aurora and various city council members. Approximately 200
quality items are
available for bidding. Those attending enjoy an excellent dinner, live
auction entertainment, and dancing. By 10:00pm, successful bidders are being assisted by members of Smoky Hill in obtaining
their items from the display tables.
In addition to Special Things for Special Kids, the Smoky Hill Rotary Club
Foundation supports many organizations with funds from this event. These
include the Aurora Police Department D.A.R.E. program, Gateway Battered Women's Shelter, Girls Club, Boy Scout Troop 641,
Excelsior Youth Center, Comitis Center and others who receive funds from the Ritz
proceeds.
Whether it's a middle school special education child who needs a new pair of glasses, or a
basket of food for women and children in a shelter, the men and women of Smoky Hill Rotary
are providing "Service Above Self" as they devote hundreds of hours in
preparing for the Ritz, and hosting those attending the night of the Ritz.
Be it in a pair
of jeans, or a tuxedo, the members of Smoky Hill Rotary Club are "hands-on" when
it comes to helping their community. They prove it year after year with Puttin'
On The Ritz! We look forward to seeing you at the next Ritz!
